Taconic Crest Trail
This 37-mile long trail
meanders back and forth across the borders of New York, Massachusetts and Vermont in the Taconic Mountain Range.

The trail begins and extends from U.S. Route 20 in Hancock, Massachusetts going north along the ridgecrest of the Taconic Range, first within Massachusetts–through Pittsfield State Forest, then weaving along the border of New York and Massachusetts, and ending in Petersburgh, New York on NY Rte 346 / Rte 2 Massachusetts, near the Vermont border.

DESCRIPTION
The South Taconic Trail is a 15 mile (25 km) hiking trail in the Taconic Mountains of southwest Massachusetts and adjacent New York. The trail begins and extends from the village of Whitehouse Crossing in Millerton, New York, and runs north along the ridgecrest of the southern Taconic Range through the town of Mt. Washington, Mass. and ends at the Catamount Ski Area on Route 23 in Egremont, Massachusetts.

in the north,
Technically there is one entrance, but locally there are two. Most people start out at Bash Bish Falls parking lot and up to Alander which is about a 3.4 mile hike one way. However, the trail actually starts several miles north right off of Route 23, just up the road from Catamount Ski Resort
Northern Terminus of the trail is off Route 23 up the road from Catamount Ski area.
Southern terminus entrance via Quarry Hill Road is described above.
