" The purpose of the Fire Lookout Tower Quest program is to increase the public's recognition of, and appreciation for, the critical roles that our fire towers play in the protection, stewardship and sustainable use of New Hampshire's forests.
document the date of your visit on the attached visitor register. Once you have visited five different fire towers simply fill out the attached request form and mail it to "Tower Quest Program" NH Division of Forest and Lands, 172 Pembroke Road, Concord, NH 03301. In a few weeks you will receive your complimentary Tower Quest patch, certificate, and a letter in recognition of your accomplishment."

MASSACHUSETTS
From the mass fire tower challenge webpage:
"The challenge: Massachusetts has 14 counties, 12 of which have fire towers on them. Hike to a fire tower in 11 of the 12 counties to earn your "Massachusetts 11 Fire Towers Challenge" Patch! Dukes County is only accessible by ferry (unless you already live there) hence the 11 counties/11 towers.
Need more of a challenge? There are 53 fire towers currently standing in Massachusetts. Of the 53 towers, 6 are on private property and cannot be accessed, leaving 47 towers. Hike to all 47 fire towers
and earn another patch!

This is definately a challenge!
Hikers can earn a patch by completing the ADK Fire Tower Challenge- which requires visiting all 5 towers in the Catskills and 18 of 25 in the Adirondacks. To get the patch.
if you visit in the winter you qualify for the winter rocker. If you hike between December 21 and March 21 you can earn a rocker for your Fire Tower Challenge patch
Do not go up the fire towers in winter.
*Note it is not necessary to climb the firetowers and some are not open due to their condition. simply hike the mountain and see the tower*
