Shining Sea Bikeway

The 10.7-mile Shining Sea Bikeway follows the route of a former railroad line The Shining Sea Bikeway, goes from Woods Hole to North Falmouth.

its name comes from the lyrics to “America the Beautiful,” written by Falmouth native Katharine Lee Bates. parking lots are along the trail for those who want to do only sections

I really enjoyed biking this trail my fond memories have a lot to do with how it changes from seashore views where you can stop and walk in the ocean wooded sections with bridges a spot where can lock your bike and walk along an Audubon society property a salt-water marsh to a towns with wonderful shops and eateries in woods hole here are some resources for the trail a nice overview by Rails to Trails Conservancy
